What foods bother your condition? Have you noticed any that have positive or negative effects?
Wonder what foods may or may not affect my condition. Others with experience? Thanks for your responses.

What an interesting question Red1. I don't think that I've noticed any food effects, but I'm curious to hear what others say. Are you thinking about effects on any particular symptoms: mucous production? short of breath? exacerbations?
The only two things that have given me considerable trouble are home grown and home juiced wheatgrass and a green smoothie. The wheatgrass was the worst. The effect was almost instant. The mucus production was excessive which of course made me cough and cough. Apart from when I gave birth, this is the only night I did not sleep at all - it was that bad. I sat up all night coughing. The green smoothie was one made with Spring green leaves which were very dark in colour. Dairy doesn't affect me at all.
Anyone else?
Red1,
Great question.:)
I heard of many being sensitive to wheatgrass.
I am hyper sensitive to preservatives, chemicals and food like tomatoes, garlic which greatly bother my reflux issue.
Reflux can surely aggravate our respiratory issues, especially if we eat the " bad foods" in the evening .
Reflux, sinus issues all can result in wheezing. Many only think of wheezing as a result of respiratory issues.
I am wondering about zucchini, cucumbers and all the melons as they have protein similar to pollen for their cross-over reactive foods, and I am allergic to ragweed. Ragweed is related to these foods, bananas, melons, zucchini, cucumber, dandelions, and chamomile tea. I have a lot of allergies. We have had high humidity and dew points too. Ragweed usually starts this time of the month till it freezes.

Kandy,
Very interesting to read about these fruits, veggies and pollen! Would love to find out more on these fruits . We all seem to share the commonality of hyper sensitivities....
Chamomile tea also bothers me. We may be on the way to figuring out another piece of the puzzle in our hyper- sensitive bodies
Chamomile tea was listed with the ragweed I didn't list it. The source of this info came from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I have had this for a few years.
Wow, thank you Kandy! The prices of the puzzle are coming together. I thought that it was strange that chamomile bothered me I will look into the Children's Hospital website.:)

Hello! Here is more information on ragweed.
Fall allergies may begin earlier due to a very rainy spring.

I am curious how many patients do have ragweed allergies and other hyper sensitivity issues.
I find meals heavy carb meals and broccoli bother me
Kelli,
Heavy carb meals may some patients tired .
Have not heard of many negative effects of broccoli; however, each body responds differently
I just want to thank all of you for your responses. It was great to hear from all you and your feedback.
Red1,
You are most welcome! Have a pleasant day!
I should have been clearer those our things that tend to give me a build up of gas making it harder to breath for a while.
Yes, the goal is to have our gastro intestinal system as stable as possible while on meds and off meds

Liz,
Thank you for this tip; I will look him up. Another great resource is Dr Mark Hyman; he is frequently on PBSN. :
Wowzers! So much good info.
I have seasonal allergies well-controlled with a protocol from my sleep apnea pulmonologist. One spray of QVAR in each NOSTRIL followed by one spray of Patanase in each nostril, morning and evening, all year round. To spray QVAR in the nose, cut the hole bigger in a baby bottle nipple and slip the nipple onto the QVAR. Spray away! I've not noticed any problems with foods related to ragweed, but dairy foods lead to coughing jags. I eat them anyway.
If I bend down, coughing jag. I generally don't finish meals, as my lungs don't do well on a full stomach. And I don't have much appetite anyway. Losing weight, maybe from Daliresp.
I do have other hypersensitivity issues though. Mostly skin related.
