Miami (May 13) – The Bronchiectasis and NTM Association has accepted one new Care Center and three new Clinical Associate Center sites into the Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network (CCN). The CCN includes 62 centers across the United States.

The CCN aims to facilitate access to specialized care and support for the hundreds of thousands of people with bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease.

“People living with bronchiectasis and NTM lung disease deserve access to high-quality, specialized care and resources,” said Doreen Addrizzo-Harris, M.D., Chair of the CCN Steering Committee. “The CCN’s innovative network of expert centers is dedicated to enhancing care and improving quality of life for those living with these conditions.”

Conference focused on advancing excellence and innovation in pulmonary and critical care medicine

Miami (October 23, 2025) – The Bronchiectasis and NTM Association announced today that two abstracts using Bronchiectasis and NTM Research Registry data were presented at CHEST 2025, held October 19-22, 2025, in Chicago.

The abstracts are:

• “The Relationship Between Baseline Severity of Bronchiectasis and Incident Non-Tuberculous Mycobacterial Infection: findings from the U.S. Bronchiectasis and NTM Research Registry,” which examined whether increased bronchiectasis severity was associated with an increased risk of NTM infections.
• “The Impact of BMI in Bronchiectasis With or Without NTM: Findings From the US Bronchiectasis and NTM Research Registry (BRR),” which studied how BMI levels may impact outcomes in patients with bronchiectasis and if the presence of an NTM infection influenced those outcomes.

Network facilitates access to high-quality, specialized patient care for bronchiectasis and NTM lung disease

Miami (October 21, 2025) – The Bronchiectasis and NTM Association has accepted eight Care Center and 17 Clinical Associate Center sites in 14 states into the Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network (CCN). The CCN includes 58 centers across the United States.

The CCN aims to facilitate access to specialized care and support for the hundreds of thousands of people with bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease.

Conference focused on latest advances in respiratory medicine and science

Miami (October 2, 2025) – The Bronchiectasis and NTM Association announced today that two abstracts using Bronchiectasis and NTM Research Registry data were presented at the European Respiratory Society Congress, held September 27-October 1, 2025, in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The abstracts are:

• “Exploring the overlapping burden of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and bronchiectasis: insights from the US BRR,” which examined the role of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency in the development of bronchiectasis.
• “Assessing Exacerbation History and Bronchiectasis Management in the US Bronchiectasis and NTM Research Registry (BRR),” which studied treatment methods in adult patients with bronchiectasis.

Miami (March 12, 2025) – The Bronchiectasis and NTM Association has accepted 27 Care Center and six Clinical Associate Center sites in 23 states and the District of Columbia into the new Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network (CCN).

The CCN aims to facilitate access to specialized care and support for the hundreds of thousands of people with bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease.

“As the prevalence of bronchiectasis and NTM lung disease grows, it is even more important for us to create this Care Center Network to improve access to high-quality, specialty care and resources patients need,” said Doreen Addrizzo-Harris, M.D., Chair of the CCN Steering Committee. “The CCN’s innovative, nationwide network will help us achieve our goals of improving care and quality of life for those with these conditions, as well as advancing toward a cure.”

Centers accepted into the CCN receive a designation of either a Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center or a Bronchiectasis and NTM Clinical Associate Center, based on institutional resources and infrastructure. The requirements are established by the CCN’s Steering Committee, comprised of leading experts in the field.

Fourth annual awareness event occurs July 1, 2025

MIAMI (June 26, 2025) – The Bronchiectasis and NTM Association joins 25 global patient advocacy organizations and professional societies to recognize the fourth annual World Bronchiectasis Day on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Bronchiectasis is a chronic lung disease characterized by enlarged airways that are thickened and/or scarred. These permanently widened airways lead to a buildup of mucus and impaired clearance of bacteria from the lungs. It is estimated that more than 1 million people are diagnosed with bronchiectasis worldwide, and of those, 340,000 to 522,000 are adults in the U.S.

The aim of World Bronchiectasis Day is to raise global awareness, share knowledge and resources, and discuss ways to reduce the burden on those affected by the condition. This year, global partners are focused on empowering people with bronchiectasis by sharing resources on self-management, mental health, physical activity, and nutrition.

Miami (July 22, 2025) – The Bronchiectasis and NTM Association announced today that four abstracts using Bronchiectasis and NTM Research Registry data were presented at the World Bronchiectasis Conference, held July 14-17, 2025, in Brisbane, Australia.

The abstracts are:

• “The Impact of Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) Use on Exacerbation Rates in Patients with Bronchiectasis: An Analysis of the US Bronchiectasis and NTM Research Registry,” which examined the impact proton pump inhibitor use has on exacerbation and hospital stay frequency and disease severity.
• “High frequency chest wall oscillation (HFCWO) data in the Bronchiectasis and Nontuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) Research Registry (BRR),” which highlighted the need for more education on high frequency chest wall oscillation prescribing indications and guidelines to ensure all eligible patients are receiving devices.
• “Treatment patterns by exacerbation history in adults with bronchiectasis: data from the U.S. Bronchiectasis and NTM Research Registry,” which analyzed exacerbation treatment patterns to determine factors that influence disease management.
• “Sociodemographic Factors Associated with Health Outcomes in a Sample of the U.S. Bronchiectasis and Nontuberculous Mycobacteria Research Registry,” which evaluated the impact of socioeconomic factors on health outcomes, including access to care, exacerbations, and health care utilization.
