Any contraption or non-medical device that improves your quality of life?
Do you have any item, like a de-humidifier, etc. that has a positive impact on your quality of life while dealing with a respiratory disease? Any recommendations?

Hello! I have several airway clearance devices. I would not use a humidifier since Mycobacteria have been found in these items

Air purifiers have been great for me. I have 3 of them through out the house including my bedroom. Not very loud and energy efficient.

A quiet place in your home designed to unwind, and also a place where you will push yourself to do some exercise, deep breathing, airway clearance on a daily basis.:

Carrying things typically causes patients with lung conditions to become breathless. I have had several patients buy a rolling cart to move laundry, groceries, etc. around the house. Also, bathing typically can cause shortness of breath. Many lung patients love the idea of a shower seat and a large terrycloth robe for passively drying off after bathing.
I do not have a nebulizer w saline solution, but I have a steamer (for cooking hard boiled eggs) I put new water in it each time I use it sans the eggs and with a towel over my head. This safe ie no mold or NTM correct?

Hill Rom has a new home device that we have been sending patients home with, the Volara System. It is like using an Aerobika and vest (oscillation) therapy while you do your nebulizer. So a three pronged approach to airway clearance.
Do not use tap water or filtered water or most bottled water for steam without boiling 10 minutes first.
My doctor says all tap water and all bottled water (purified and spring waters) except for distilled water can have NTM. My NTM was probably from using filtered tap water (NTM grows in filters) in an essential oil diffuser.
It grows in water pipes because it isn’t killed by chlorine and having no competition from the microbes killed by chlorine it proliferates.
Boiling for 10 minutes after water reaches boiling point kills it. When using tap water, I boil water with lid to reduce steam into the room until it has boiled for 10 minutes. I have successfully done this in the microwave with largest Corning ware available.
Why has your doctor not prescribed a saline nebulizer? I thought that was standard treatment?
