Hello! Pall filters are highly endorsed by Dr J. Falkinham and other members of the NTM community. No one product offers an 100% guarantee that the filter will prevent an NTM infection. It is important that you replace these filters every few months.
Thank you. Do you know of any research that supports the use of these filters?
Working on finding research.

KK,
So sorry that you had a bad experience. I have reached out to Pall for some information to post
Loopy, here is some information that may be helpful with the filters:
When considering the use of a Pall QPoint point-of-use filter (this is the 62 day version) please note that following:
- The shower filter is easiest to install at the end of a hose. One can be installed on the end of the fixed shower pipe but it requires two additional pieces of hardware to be purchased and guidance by Pall.
- The faucet filter is harder to install because there needs to be specific aerator “threads” on the faucet and if you do not have the specific size, you will need to send good close-up photos of the faucet end and threads to Pall to evaluate for feasibility. Pall will do their best to recommend a specific adapter but may not always have the exact adapter.
- The faucet filter is CANNOT connected to any foreign faucet with metric aerator threads.
- The faucet filter CANNOT be connected to any faucet that has a pull out sprayer at the end of the faucet.
- A low profile bathroom faucet is usually difficult to connect a faucet filter because of limited space below the filter.
- A gooseneck style faucet with easy to see and available aerator threads are typically the best style faucets to connect to (Chicago, American Standard, T&S Brass, Delta, Moen, Zurn, etc.)
- To keep cost in control it is recommended to connecting filters ONLY to one shower and/or one faucet and limit use to those if feasible.
- Finally, the most important thing to consider is that the particulate in the water will negatively affect the useful life of the filter coupled with usage and your satisfaction. Only whole house filtration (with the ability to implement increasing micron size reduction) to reduce the particulate will aid in extending point-of-use filter life. Pall DOES NOT provide these products/systems. You can find at Home Depot for installation by a plumber or consult a local “water softening” company but ensure you only say you want “particulate” reduction of the water WITHOUT carbon filtration.
