Are you prepared for the cold and flu season?
Preparation of cold and flu toolboxes are strongly recommended. You do not want to sick and realize that you are out of the basic supplies. Going to the drug store when you are sick and fatigued is not good for you nor the other people in the store.
The following items should be in your Cold/Flu Toolbox:
Boxes of non fragrant tissues
Tylenol or Motrin fevers and body aches
A functional thermometer
Throat lozenges
Vitamin C to boost your immune system
Vitamin D
Over the counter cold medicines ( if approved by your doctor).
Ginger ale, soothing teas, and your favorite sick role comfort foods.
I hope that you do not need to use this toolbox frequently this year but it is always best to be prepared.

These are great tips! I especially like that you included comfort foods. No one wants to spend a lot of time and effort cooking when they don't feel well! It's nice to be able to just pull some healthy leftovers out of the freezer for a quick meal. I like to make turkey noodle soup from the leftover Thanksgiving turkey and then freeze it for later. It has come in handy many times!
Thank you Kristen for your words and mentioning soup. ! I can’t believe that I forgot to mention “ chicken soup”. So many people believe that chicken soup is a cure all in itself. What works for one may not work for another.
We do have limited energy when we are not feeling well- the last thing we desire to do is to cook. However, we need good nutrition. Proteins are the building blocks for healing. :)

This is a great list, Katie. I can't tell you the number of times that I have come down with "something" (or my kids), and we were on our last box of tissues! No one wants to run out to the store when they aren't feeling good. I would venture to say that these items (including Kristen's yummy, wholesome leftovers) are things that you should have all year long. Thanks for posting this!
