After being off treatment for MAC with bronchiectasis for 3 months my sputum cultures are positive once again. My doc is referring me to National Jewish in Denver for assessment and treatment plan. If you've been can you share your experience so I'll know what to expect. Thank you

KC,

Please look over NJCs website.

They are truly experts at treating this disease. I had been a patient there 3x years ago.

Please double check that all of your medical records are sent in good timing from your primary care doc and pulmonologist. It is wise to keep a log of phone calls, medical release forms to make sure that everything you need has arrived to NJC before you are evaluated.

Your doc will have ongoing communication with the NJC doctor to make sure that all follow up care is being done.

I hope that other members respond.

Please ask any other specific.

I realize that this time period can be overwhelming; however, we are here to support you

Thank you for the response. I will make sure everything is in order. I was told I would be there 5-7 days for testing, assessing and treatment planning. I am assuming there is a lot of time waiting around in between, was that your experience. Due to the expense of travel/hotels etc. I am just concerned about keeping it as short and efficient as possible, although I know I don't have much control over that.

Yes recheck that your schedule is in order as I drove from SD daughter ND to get to Denver Jewish had lost my schedule. We did one thing each day and by Friday they wanted me to stay till next week. We had to leave as daughter was in college to get her RT Degree. That was very disappointing not to get any help.

Yes, it is a busy place and records can get lost. Give a week or more for your doctors, medical records department to assure you that all records, including cat scans, etc will either be forwarded to NJC or be in your possession.

Please keep us posted on your visit
