Using a spacer with your MDI inhaler can increase medication deposition by up to 70%! It's surprising that many still use albuterol inhalers without one.
it is surprising that many people do not use a spacer. Unfortunately, they have not been advised by their health care provider about the benefits of a spacer.
It is hard to understand why my clinic doesn't offer total education
Unfortunately, many facilities do not hire educators who can provide educational materials and to review these materials as needed. Health care providers are often on strict time schedules - some take time to provide basic education, some do not. Many patients must learn on their own. Hopefully, this system will improve in the future.
