Eliquis
I was recently diagnosed with a fib and was placed on Eliquis. Today I noticed that the mucis I cough up is bloody, I am wondering if this is a temporary problem that I have to work through or do I need to see if I need to change my medications.

Rush,
Hello! Have you notified your cardiologist who prescribed the Eliquis? You may need to get coagulation lab tests repeated?

Hi Rush. If this a change in your sputum (which it sounds like it is), I recommend following up with your doctor. It may be possible that they could switch you to another medication that won't cause this to happen.
Hello! It is of upmost importance to be very cautious when taking any blood thinners. I just recently went through a similar situation with a family member on Eliquis.
