I have doing research on supplements to my neublizing solutions to help me manage my bronchiectasis.

My sister-in-law saw an ad for Lung Clear so I did some research and found other supplements touted to help with infections and mucus issues. Does anyone tried them with any success.

Also I am looking to Pulmonary Rehab for a 12 week excercise program to improve my stamina, Has anyone had success with these programs

Hi Rush,

It's great that you are looking for ways to help improve your breathing. I think talking with your doctor about pulmonary rehab is a great start. I have spoken to people before they start the pulmonary rehabilitation program and after completion, and they often express a sense of improvement. The program encompasses exercise, education, and assistance from qualified healthcare experts. It is advisable for individuals with bronchiectasis experiencing shortness of breath hindering their daily activities to consider pulmonary rehab. Below is a section providing more details on this topic. I hope you find it helpful!

Rush,

Hello! I agree w Brandon that Pulmonary Rehab is a great option for many people. Please discuss this with your doctor to see if it will be beneficial for you, he/ she needs to write a prescription for it.

Regarding supplements, there are many out there that advertise as miracle drugs. Please be cautious since it is a big money making industry.

Generic mucinex, plenty of warm water w honey is a start. Your doctor may order nebulized saline that helps to break up the mucus.

Hi Rush.

Rehab sounds like an excellent idea. The Pulmonary Wellness Foundation is one option, if you are looking for a free online program. Bootcamp 101 lasts six weeks. I haven't tried it yet.

Were you asking about Clear Lungs by Ridgecrest Herbals, or a different product? I did not benefit from that particular product, but I probably did not follow directions, and I have seen positive reviews and reports on various websites that it helped with COPD or asthma or other issues, so it's hard to know if it might be beneficial, or a waste of money. Most doctors aren't knowledgeable about herbal supplements, so ultimately we have to make our own decisions. Two supplements you might look into are mullein, a mild-mannered herb for respiratory support (source Cleveland Clinic), and NAC, which has a fair amount of supportive research. Obviously, I'm not a doctor. Best of luck on your journey.

NAC does work for some patients; I can’t take it- it made me very flushed. I have never tried Mullein
