Has anyone with bronchiectasis been diagnosed with high eosinophil levels?
After being told I have bronchiectasis, my pulmonologist informed me that my eosinophil levels were extremely high, 179 was the count, and that it was the main cause of my asthma. Has anyone else experienced this?

No, he said that the chronic inflamation was caused by the elevated eosinophil levels and that causes the mucus buildup, wheezing ,shortness of breath, asthma. He said the bronchiectasis was mild and secondary. He also suggested I take Nucala injections once a month to control the eosinophil and help the asthma. It's a very new drug and not much has been studied about it. I'm very hesitant about receiving these injections.

Thanks so much for the support and information. My doctor suggested Cinqair monthly IV or Nucala monthly injections. I very hesitant to receive these as to the negative side effects. It would be helpful to speak to people who are receiving the injections. Thanks.

I asked my dr about my esinophils said mine are ok. I have been on xolair for many years. I get 375 mg every two weeks which is 3 shots for allergies which I have many.

Yes. My boyfriend was diagnosed a year ago with moderate to severe asthma and his doctor told us that his levels were high. He is now considering bronchial thermoplasty surgery because his breathing and fatigue is so bad. After seeing your post I am going to request that his doctor investigate his immunity response and clarify his findings with us. Thank you and good luck. Will update soon.
