Mucous Thinning
Has anyone tried the nebulized form of n-acetyl cysteine to help thin mucous?? I have discussed this with my doctor, and she has sent the prescription to several drug stores, and they have not been able to attain this drug.
I live in New Jersey.

I hope it helps. I haven't tried it yet, but I was about to get this drug at a Walgreen's store in Ohio after a one day wait.
Hello! I have not tried this drug. It isn’t widely used in the USA as a mucolytic agent. Have you considered a compounding pharmacy if you cannot find it at local drug stores?
The issue with compounding pharmacies is that most drugs are not covered by insurance.

I use this called mucomyst that goes in nebulizer. Also have pill form called Nac. These are both to help the mucus.
