NTMers: How often do you have lab / bloodwork done?
Every month I get a CBC, plus kidney and liver function checks, ordered by my infectious disease doc, and I assume you all do too. For those of you who have been treated for 2 or 3 or more years, did the monthly lab work continue throughout treatment?

It all depends upon the patient, their medical history, other medical issues.
Some continue monthly, more frequently is one has symptoms and they suspect an issue.
Labs can go back to quarterly, semi-annually once complete w/ the antibiotics.

Blood work can vary in frequency for many reasons. Whenever I start a new antibiotic that is considered toxic to the liver or kidneys, I get my blood tested at least weekly until the doctor is satisfied that everything is stable. I remember one stretch of twice weekly blood tests while I was on multiple intravenous meds. When I am not on any antibiotics, I do not get any extra blood tests.
John,
Getting your labs done that frequently is great when initiating regular antibiotics. Doctors are now more limited by insurance compin writing more frequent lab requests.
