Percussion vest with breast implants after mastectomy
Hi! Has anyone with a history of mastectomy with gel implant reconstruction been using a percussion vest, or know anything about the safety to the implants of such use? Any idea where to find case reports of problems or studies showing safety? Thank you!!!

Hello! I researched and could not find any articles on the subject. I did communicate with a colleague who works with airway clearance vests. The clinical consideration is the same as any other chest surgery. It should be ok if the incision is completely healed- free of any signs, symptom s of infection. My guess is to wait at least 3 months or more. It is also a question of comfort and tolerance by the individual patient. The decision should really be made by the surgeon and reviewed with the primary care doctor.
