What hobby do you enjoy the most? Do you have any activities that you turn to for stress relief?

I have several hobbies that I enjoy. I am a knitter. I used to have a farm where I raised fiber animals (Angora goats and Angora rabbits). I sheared them, spun their fiber into yarn, designed and made hats, sweaters, gloves, etc., and sold the items at a few craft shows. I no longer have the farm and no longer do craft shows, but still enjoy the creative process of making things. I also trade stocks and bicycle on a local trail with a friend. Being confined during Covid would have been horrible if I had not had these outlets.

DAJ,
That is fascinating! I have always wanted to learn how to crochet or knit. My husband is enjoying trading stocks too. The fact that you can do it easily from a cell phone or tablet these days is crazy to me. You are right about confinement during Covid. I think there are a ton of people who found new hobbies or past times that they can do at home (or close to home).

ChristinaH, You really should try to learn to crochet or knit.  Knitting is probably the easiest, and you can make beautiful things or gifts with just a few simple stitches.  It's very relaxing, and you can knit while watching tv.  That helps me to still feel productive and avoid the "guilt" of watching tv or movies.

@DAJ I might give it a shot then! My neighbor is fantastic at crocheting. She made baby blankets for each one of my kids. :)

DAJ,

Wow! Angora goats and rabbits sounds very interesting. I am glad that you replaced the old hobbies w new ones. Yes, we all need outlets to keep ourselves centered.

Walking or biking around the neighborhood, going for leisurely drives, completing online surveys, reading, playing web site games, photography, and researching ancestral stuff.

Stress is when you wake up screaming then realize you were not asleep.

I have gotten into some digital scrapbooking. I don't have any fancy computer programs, but I use this website called Mixbook. It allows me to create projects, upload photos, and do neat things with formatting. It has been fun to create yearbooks for my family etc.

I go to the gym and exercise to get away from sitting too much and watching TV.

Also, play pickleball indoors at our local Community Center. Walk my dog at the park.

How has your gym changed since Covid? Do they have the equipment more spaced out? Do you have to wear a mask while playing pickleball? I mainly exercise at home (because the closest gym is 20 minutes away). I have wondered if our community has felt comfortable heading back to the gym and fitness centers. I love that you have kept up with exercise!
