The coughing is increasing. Do any of you take cough pills, and do you recommend?
I have been prescribed cough pills by my pulmonologist, but I don't take them, thinking that it's better to get the mucous up and out than let it be a breeding ground for infection. But I pretty much cough all day long now, and would like some relief. What is your experience with cough pills?

Hi Cindy, I can imagine that coughing all day feels miserable, especially physically. Do you have any other methods of getting the mucous up besides just coughing? I hope someone will share their experience with cough pills so you can finally find some relief.
Try some ambroxolhydrochloride (trade names like Mucoangin.)

Cindy,
Hello! Sorry to read of your current challenges. It is exhausting both physically and mentally when you are constantly coughing. I recall not being able to complete a sentence without coughing years ago...
Are you using an airway clearance device, 7% NS?
Yes, it is good to get the mucous up and not suppress the cough but you also have to function. Have you asked your pulmonologist for a night time cough suppressant so that you can sleep?
