I have Bronchiectasis and I am supposed to go to Denver for Christmas. I have not traveled on a plane since I came down with this. I'm wondering if going to Denver for a week is such a good idea. I cough a lot and after my inhalers I cough up Phlem.

Thoughts?

Thanks sut

Hello! Welcome to the site.

Traveling to CO for a comprehensive evaluation is definitely important and worthwhile. I would suggest to wear a n 95 mask. Please be well rested, hydrated, have your flu shot done if not already done, take a daily vitamin or extra vitamin c.

Please keep us posted

Hello! Please excuse my note about getting a comprehensive evaluation.

I jumped to the conclusion that you were going to National Jewish Hospital for an evaluation.....

Do many patients have gone to CO for an evaluation recently...

Anyway, the other tips still apply

Agree with the mask.. Plains are very germy. Hand sanitizer also. Knew a lady every time she flew she would be sick after.

Sut,

You are most welcome! You don’t have to wear the mask constantly If no one around you is coughing or showing any cold, flu symptoms ; it is always wise to be safe rather than sorry. Enjoy the trip!:
