Why can't I control my cough better.
Because I have bronchiectasis I know I will always cough but this is tooooo much. I use nebulized 7% saline twice daily, use Symbicort twice a day and use albuterol inhaler several times a day. I take ranitidine twice daily for acid reflux. HELP, any ideas?

I recently bought the book "Beating Bronchiectasis" by Daniel Pecaut and I am trying a similar approach. He basically went "all in" and tried a variety of different stuff to try and improve his health. It is alot of work and I have just quit my job to focus on my health fulltime over winter here. The main things I am working on are breathing retraining, diet and staying active - and all of this stuff takes time. Hopefully my investment pays off - but I have seen improvement already and do not cough or gasp for breathe nearly as much right now unless I have a flare up.

Redhead,
Hello!
Have they checked your sputum cultures lately?
I wholeheartedly agree w Russo- every patient may learn to identify, over time , therapies that lessen their symptoms.
