I have noticed that weather seems to affect how I feel. Does anyone have any tips on how to manage the coming winter?

Hello! The dry heat does take a toll on some patients.
To name a few suggestions:

We are advised not to use humidifiers. A pot with cool water near or under the bed nightly can add some moisture to the air. Some people crack the window a bit to lessen the dryness from the heat.

Some patients use an inhaler as needed.

Covering your mouth w a scarf 🧣 is recommended when you go outside.

Take all necessary infection control precautions.

In searching for something else, I saw your answer about NOT using humidifers. Why? My pulmonologist told me to use a humidifer when he diagnosed me in 2018. He did emphasize that it be a cool mist humidifer. I'm just curious.

My allergist told me to get rid mine. There are to many mold and bacteria growth in them.  This was some years ago so maybe the new ones are better.

Thank you, I knew about the humidifiers, but didn't know about the pot of cool water. Learned something new. Thanks

You are not alone. The dry winter weather is definitely harsh on the lungs. I would also offer the suggestion of drinking lots of water. We don't often feel dehydrated in the winter because of the cold but adding more fluids will help move mucus easier and keep your skin moisturized as well!
