Are you aware of new therapies for COPD or bronchiectasis that have just been approved or may be approved soon? If so, please share what you are hearing.

I am awaiting Brensocatib for individuals with Bronchiectasis. This drug has shown its effectiveness in reducing the number of exacerbations . Hopefully, it will be on the market early in 2025. It is so great to see drugs and therapies in the pipeline.

I have just had a demonstration of the rather new Volara (lung expansion therapy) system by Hillrom at the National Jewish Health respiratory department. The machine is maybe three to four times larger than the Ombra compressor, and like the Ombra delivers nebulized saline, the difference being that the Volara delivers the saline more forcefully, using two different pulses for a 10 minute treatment.
From what I experienced, the Volara seems like it will be  a really very good therapy in the treatment of Bronchiectasis.

Many thanks, Christina. And best wishes to John T., Katie, and all those who bring us our monthly Coffee Breaks. And wishes to all for continuing good health.

I always remember the parting words of Dr. Daley at the last National Jewish Health Lecture Series-------
Airway Clearance, Airway Clearance, Airway Clearance!!!
